Press Release: Sofoline drivers association

 

The sofoline drivers association wishes to express our gratitude to K M A for the idea to re- construct the Sofoline terminal into a modern one. However, we are not happy about the way the K. M. A is handling the M. O. U , which we the Union and the K. M. A are to sign. We are therefore appealing to the K. M. A to include the proposals we put across during the meeting we had with them, Else we the Unions will advice ourselves... The following are the proposals the put across, but the K. M. A had refused to include in the M. O. U , which we are not comfortable
1. That, the K. M. A should include in the M. O. U the source of funding for the project.
2. That we want legal actions to be taken in court of law should there be any breached in the M. O. U instead of the arbitration which the K. M. A is suggesting that is final and binding
3. That , the K. M. A should come out with proper drawn plan for the proposed modern terminal at the Sofoline.
4. That , names of all existing Unions currently operating at the terminal should be listed in the M. O. U
5. That, the time frame for the project should be stated in the M. O. U as well as the name of the contractor for the project.
6. That, the M. C. E should append his signature on all letters send to the association, with regard to the Sofoline terminal Re-construction project including the signing of the M. O. U. The K. M. A should stop the, signed for signed for habit
7. That , the K. M. A should include in the M. O. U . whether the project is B. O. T .
The above proposal which the association made to the assembly and was rejected had given us strong belief that, there is something wrong with the signing of the M. O. U as well as the Execution of the project. We Want K. M. A to Ratify the current M. O. U. Before we can append our signature
