Mosque inside Flagstaff house demolished for warehouse???!
The Flagstaff House. Seat of the Presidency of Ghana. The running mate of the Opposition New Patriotic Party Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that the Presidency is religiously skewed.
According to him, the seat of government does not adequately reflect one part of the two dominant religious groupings in the country. “Another major issue that I want to bring to the attention of the
people is that; if we look at the flagstaff house today, it does not reflect the people of Ghana in terms of religion.
These comments by the running mate of the opposition party seem to confirm the rumors making round. According to the story, the Mosque that was built inside the flagstaff house by the past administration has been demolished and the place used for a warehouse. The past Kuffour's administration built a mosque inside the flagstaff house to maintain religious balance and also to facilitate prayer section since the then vice president and some key members of his administration who had access to the presidency were Muslims and needed convenient place of worship.
It is alleged that some officials of the government of the day has turned the place of worship into a warehouse where other stuff are kept instead of it's purpose. It is early days yet we are hoping to gather more on this allegation.
