US soldiers dancing in a bar with Filipinos turn into a fight

A group of American soldiers is facing sanctions after brawling with Filipino cops in a bar.
The this occurred on April 2 at a pole-dancing club in Puerto Princesa, according to Vice News — but it didn’t draw widespread attention till surveillance footage of the fight was uploaded to YouTube Tuesday. SEE VIDEO.....

The 10-minute video starts with a Filipino cop slumped over a table, apparently passed out. Then, an American soldier taps on his beer bottle, causing it to overflow. Another man joins in and things escalate.

A few women try to step in and keep the peace, but as more apparently boozy soldiers join the mix, the shoving match turns into a full-scale brawl and eventually one of the three policemen whips out a gun.
The cops were later disarmed by a superior and temporarily removed from their posts pending an investigation, according to a Puerto Princesa police spokesperson.

Afterward, a spokesperson for the Philippine military said that the dispute had been settled amicably.
The U.S. military issued a statement saying that potential misconduct is “completely unacceptable,” adding that it “demands high standards of conduct from service members at all times, and takes all incidents involving potential misconduct very seriously.”
The brawl will not affect the ongoing joint military exercises involving U.S. and Philippine troops.
